These digital reading units for Google Classroom are easy to assign and easy for students to use. Classwork to find the organised list of activities and assignments. This page will help you keep track of your students’ work! That’s it! Now you’re ready to assign your first assignment in Google Classroom! Google Classroom is designed to be organised on the Classwork tab. From here you will see which students you’ve assigned work to and how many have completed the assignment. Once you have assigned your assignment you will be redirected to the teacher page. Turned-in work can be graded using the rubric, and the score will be automatically calculated. You can create rubrics right in Google Classroom, and students can view these as they work. Every class, whether it is online or not, needs somewhere to set homework. Once selected, review your assignment, and press the Assign button. Teachers can simply assign points to different assignments, or give different types of assignments (essays, classwork, homework, etc.) different weights. This is the heart of our online English classrooms. Just as you would pass out a paper-based assignment in class to each student, be sure to select “Make a copy for each student” from the menu list. (Cue the raised hands or emails!) It can make for quite a mess. If you do not select this option students will open the same Google resource and will be able to edit the same document. This is where you will see and add assignments.
